All date lost, Windows 7 unbootable
i tried to make my usb flash drive bootable using wintoflash but after reseting the computer it only appears "starting dos 7" on a blank black screen. The usb flash drive is not even inserted.

I then used windows 7 recovery cd and at the command prompt i searched for windows 7 installation on the disk and it's not even seen.

During the process of making the flash drive bootable i had made sure that the correct drive letters were selected, both source and destination. Yet this still happened! Eventually i found that the USB flash was physically locked from formatting. Could this be the cause of all this?

anyway i'm following the guide found here : viewtopic.php?f=10&t=231 , hopefully it can , at least, make my drive visible again, with all the two partitions in it. I will then use the win 7 recovery cd again.
