hi,

what's your motherboard? chipset?

0x7B is about drivers problem (they are missed) or you need patched ntdetect...

my motherboard is Intel D915GLVG. Could the error be about the drivers for usb drive. and how do i get the patched ntdetect. I also tried using the same usb to install on a different computer and it gives me a NTDLR: fatal error 1 cannot read boot.ini. The mother borad on the new pc is 82845G

Patched NTDETECT - google it :)

fatal error 1 cannot read boot.ini mean it can't load because you use USB-ZIP, but you have to use USB-HDD mode. And your MB use 845 chipset - it's old one ((

I tried using patched ntdetect didnt work. Will I have to include the drivers for the motherboard in the setup cd I use? could that be the reason for the problem

Yes, it can be your answer. You need to add USB controller drivers too.

You can do it with nLite. Just follow nLite wizard

Hi I'm having the same problem.

Trying to install XP with no service pack to an Acer Aspire One notebook via USB. I don't know the exact model number or what the motherboard is.

Currenty I'm using WinToFlash, and a 4GB usb stick. I used nLite to create an ISO with XP source. I added the SATA driver from Intel Matrix Storage Manager (specifically iaAHCI)

I get the following BSOD and STOP code:

0x0000007B (0xF7A9063C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I've aslo patched ntdirect.com and tried both SATA options in the BIOS (IDE & AHCI).

The netbook HD works as I have a USB - SATA connection and can view the content on my other laptop. I did format the HD after trying some similar scripts/programs to WinToFlash.

Any ideas? I've already learned tons from trying to fix this problem so thanks to this forum and others.

EDIT:

The BSOD happens after I boot the netbook from USB.

I get the text options, I select 1) -> it goes into a blue windows setup screen and starts loading dlls. Once this stops when it tries to move onto the next thing I get the BSOD.

We have the exact same problem. I get the BSOD at the same time and I am trying to install XP on an Aspire One. I thought this was going to be a piece of cake once I found WintoFlash but it hasn't helped me at all!
