Post Can't boot from USB on P4S800-MX
Okay, I've been trying to fix this issue for the past 10 hours. I've Googled myself silly.

Basically, I'm trying to install Windows XP SP2 via 16GB Sandisk USB stick onto an old Pentium 4 PC.

First, I used WinToFlash Wizard, that resulted in a Blinking Cursor.

I tried everything imaginable, but a few things have worked in at least getting me an error message.

-Clearing CMOS gave me an Error Reading Disk.
-Using FAT16 LBA gave me an Error Reading Disk.
-Using FAT16 CHS gave me Disk Error.
-Using RMPrepUSB NTFS USB-HDD gave me Error Reading Disk.
-Using RMPrepUSB FAT32 USB-ZIP gave me Disk Error.

Lastly, I used FAT32 CHS and I got the Blinking Cursor (of death) again.
Just to make sure it's not actually loading meanwhile, I've been letting the BCOD run for.. two hours now.

Nothing. I can't solve this.

May be your motherboard is too old to support USB boot, did you try to update BIOS?

No, but no one has ever mentioned in any thread that a BIOS update has worked for them.

I'll give it a shot, but I just installed XP from another computer onto my HDD, installed it into the PC in question.. and I get a "DISK BOOT FAILURE. INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" error message, so I don't know what to think.
