Post XP Setup cannot find files to copy to hard drive
Hey folks,

I created my USB bootable drive and set my BIOS to boot from the USB stick. Worked great. Select the first option and Windows setup started. I chose to format my C: drive, that went fine. I then started to install XP and that is when I received an error. First there was a message about building the list of files to copy then the process stopped and I receive this:

Setup cannot copy the file: bootvid.dll

If you are installing from a CD, make sure the Windows XP CD is in the CD-ROM drive.

It also tells me I can skip this file, however, it is happening for every file, which means nothing is being copied.

My DVD-ROM drive is toast, which is why I am trying to install from USB. It seems like the setup on the USB wants to copy files from the CD instead of from the USB. Is it possible there is a drive assignment issue? Is there a batch or ini file that is pointing to the wrong place? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
