Can't install Windows XP on my Sony VAIO laptop.
I completed all steps succesfully, I only miss the formatting part and the actual installation of XP.
At the beginning it shows me this error "Setup has determined that drive C is corrupted and cannot be repaired. Setup cannot continue. To quit setup press F3."
My laptop model is VGN-NR31E. I only have one partition in my computer and that is "C" where everything is installed so I can't format it (or if I can do this I would delete also the system files and I don't have the VAIO cds anymore and I'm a noob with these things and I don't want to screw up everything). I now use Windows 7 and I hate it but I want to erase everything because I'm full of viruses and everything it's too slow for me, I can't buy a new laptop that's why I'm still struggling with this one. Anybody can suggest a fix and how I can install XP and erase everything? Thank you

First try to set in BIOS Setup HDD mode to Legacy/IDE/etc. or something that is not AHCI one.

Re: Can't install Windows XP on my Sony VAIO laptop.
There is no such thing in my BIOS menu and I already saw a similar topic with this solution and it didn't help.. I also think it's already in IDE cause when I press ESC it goes in another menu (not BIOS) with 3 options:
4. IDE CD: MATSHITADVD-RAM (some random numbers and letters) 6. IDE HDD: FUJITSU MI+Y2200BH <Enter Setup>
