You are welcome.

Please, note: our app is about testing USB drives to boot. For software or operating system testing we recommend to use Microsoft Hiper-V, VMWare or VirtualBox. But the best way, of course, is to use real hardware.

Sorry, there is a writing error in the previous post, it is 1024 and not 2024 ...

I installed QEMU 2.10.1 (32b) and with 1024 Mb it does not give error. But with 2048 still giving the same error and is branded.

I have 8GB on my PC, and when I do the tests I close all the programs and browsers.

Thank you anyway.

Re: "Booteable USB test" error for run MS-DOS with more of 5
We checked your image and there is no problems in it.

As for QEMU 0.15.1 emulator, it may crash sometimes starting your image with memory allocation problems. This means your PC doesn't have enough free RAM as one contiguous block, i.e. RAM is fragmented and QEMU can't allocate enough RAM for Virtual PC. Maybe, this is only version 0.15.1 problems, 2.9.0 for example works better in this case.

We recommend to install new version of QEMU and try with it (http://en.wiki.wintoflash.com/index.php ... MU_version) or close all other programs on your PC before start the emulation with 0.15.1.

Re: "Booteable USB test" error for run MS-DOS with more of 5
Sure it is, because your USB drive contents parts from all previously saved files on this bootable USB drive. Even if you can't see them, this data is still on the drive.
To clean up this mess and make real small image:
1. Wipe your bootable USB drive with WinToFlash Full Wipe option
2. Unplug, plugin again your bootable USB
3. Format with Windows, when asked (to any file system you want)
4. Create your MSDOS bootable USB again
5. Create binary image of your bootable USB with WinToFlash
5. zip

now it should be small. All junk will be deleted out of your bootable USB drive.

Hi,

All the files on the pendrive, do not occupy more than 9 Mb in total.
But, when making the image, it generates a file (zip) of 6.4 Gb.

There is no way to make it small?

In WinToFlash select Disk Service - Create binary dump.
Create the dump, zip it and send to support@novicorp.com (if it <50Mb size) or upload to OneDrive or Google Drive and so on

"Booteable USB test" error for run MS-DOS with more of 512 K
Hello everyone.

I use a pendrive that boots with MS-DOS 7.1, generated with WinToFlash.

MS-DOS and its applications from the USB works perfect.

The problem is when I do the tests from QEMU with "Booteable USB test 1.4.0000", because it gives error when I want to run MS-DOS with more than 512KB.

I need to test some commands in MS-DOS that require at least 1024KB (1GB) of RAM to use.

I work with Windows 7 sp1 x64.

Thanks for the help in advance
